There was a programme on BBC2 on Monday night called Trust me, I'm a healer. It featured a guy called Peter who is a Shaman. The reporter seemed to be very sceptical from the start and the programme showed Peter treating his clients using Shamanic methods including calling upon fairies, dragons and genies to help.
I would like to say that whilst there are many different alternative or complimentary therapies out there, one thing that happened indirectly showed that hypnotherapy stands head and shoulders above the rest.
One of Peter's clients had a benign brain tumour which was sending her hormone levels through the roof. During one of the treatment sessions shown on the episode, we saw the client experience a recollection of a past event (hypnotic regression but not noted as such on the TV) and a subsequent release from the emotions attached to it. A lab test showed that after this session her hormone levels had dropped! After more sessions with Peter her hormone levels raised again and, to be fair, we were not shown whether further sessions included any accidental or purposeful regression. Whether Peter stumbled upon this releasing of emotions from the past, or it was on purpose, was not made clear.
Now, I do not use fairies, genies or dragons in any client sessions but I do know the incredibly powerful mind-body connection that exists and also that if we heal on an emotional level it can directly affect our physical being.
The only stand-out moment on the whole programme occurred with the drop in hormone levels as a result of, what appeared to be at least, accidental regression work i.e. accidental hypnotherapy!
Hypnotherapy can be the quickest way to achieve healing at both the emotional and physical levels in many cases.
Be happy,
Dave.
