We all know that "I can't" is an abbreviation of "I can not" but I would go a bit further and say that "I can't" is very often an abbreviation of "I can't be bothered to" but the "be bothered to" is always dropped. "I can't stop smoking, I can't lose weight, I can't get up an hour earlier" etc etc. in most cases means "I can't be bothered to stop smoking, I can't be bothered to lose weight, I can't be bothered to get up an hour earlier".

From now on, every time you say "I can't", think to yourself am I saying I can't because I am physically or emotionally unable to and it is beyond the realms and powers of myself and this universe to achieve it, or think to yourself am I saying I can't because I really mean I can't be bothered to?

If you really want to do yourself a favour, start questioning yourself every time "I can't" pops up in your thoughts or conversation and where applicable replace it with "I can".

If you stop saying "I can't" and start saying "I can" you could make incredible and profound changes in your life quickly and easily.

Turn your speakers up and watch this short clip. And from this moment on start saying "I can".

Be happy, you know you can be happy if you want to be,

Dave.
