It feels wonderful! I've discussed in previous posts how we pop in and out of the state of hypnosis many times during the day anyway, but in a therapeutic sense when hypnosis is formally induced the vast majority of my clients feel more relaxed than they have been in years.
The best way to describe the "feeling", although remember that everyone is unique and however you experience hypnosis it will be special to you, is to liken it to when you snooze in the morning. Remember how comfortable you feel tucked up under your sheets or quilt, you can hear everything going on around you, maybe the kids or a family member going about there business, maybe you can hear the TV or Radio from another room, maybe traffic noise, but you feel so comfortable just laying there with your eyes closed that you just can't be bothered to move, well that is the best way I can describe the feelings you could experience in a therapeutic sense.
Consider also that when professional sportsmen or women are taking a penalty or face match point or are putting to win a game of golf, they are extremely likely to be in a natural state of hypnosis i.e. in a focused state of attention on the putt or shot, and completely oblivious to the crowd noise or TV cameras, so they would not be in the "snooze" state but they absolutely are in a natural state of hypnosis. This applies also to actors and actresses when they change emotional states on film or stage and also to people who run around a stage clucking like chickens during a stage hypnosis show.
So what does it feel like in a therapeutic sense sat in the chair in my office? It feels fantastic.
Be happy,
Dave.
